The Sign of the Passover

Hebrew letters make pictures through words and hold numerical value. This is fascinating because the language of God’s first nation was always parabolic, until He wasn’t.

The Word became flesh.

Although The Word taught so much in parables, Jesus ultimately brought His disciples to a place of relationship where He could transition them and say, “Now I will speak plainly with you”.

The Jewish way had been to look for the signs and symbols.

In our western world, we tend to think more “Greek-like”. We want wisdom. We want science. Forget the signage and the weirdness.

Because of that, I have found that it is often the Lord’s choice to reveal Himself in ways we can’t otherwise understand.

As I have been reflecting on the sign of the Passover, I have been able to see more clearly some things that I believe God is expanding on in our day.

Yes, The work of Christ is finished. We cannot add to that. We aren’t performing. But we go from “glory to glory”. So, every generation should gain more understanding, revelation, and greater levels of the application of God’s Kingdom toward the restoration of all things.

The Hebrew letter TAV was given, from the Lord, as the design of the application of the Passover Lamb.

Tav, as a whole, means “a sign”. But, it is actually made up of two other smaller letters put together(the Dalet + Nun). Dalet and Nun spell DAN.

The Passover sign spells out the name of DAN.

Who is Dan? Dan was one of the 12 tribes of Israel, a son of Jacob. What do we know about Dan?

1. Dan was the last tribe to travel when everyone moved forward. They picked up all the pieces that were left behind. The Lamb of God humbled Himself to the point of death and redeemed that which was lost. He picked up all that we had lost- back in the first garden.

2. Dan means, “to judge”. At Passover, Christ was judging the Satan and fulfilling the requirement of divine justice.

3. Dan is symbolic of the feet. While the head has the brain, it cannot execute action alone. In order to walk out what the head says, the feet have to follow. At Passover, Christ walked out the perfect will of the Godhead and fulfilled His ministry.

The TAV is equal to the number 400. This represents the 400 years of bondage in Egypt that God had put an end to. Our Passover Lamb put an end to the bondage of sin and death on the Cross.

So, Why does this matter right now?

1. Scripture continues to verify itself and prove the goodness of God and His nature to fulfill every single promise He made.
2. Today, there is a new measure of restoration. Things lost in darkness or carelessness are being returned.
3. Today, there is a new measure of justice among the nations. God is exposing and judging where spirit enemies have been dominating, even for the last 400 years.
4. Today, there is a new measure of Kingdom execution being revealed for the feet of the Body of Christ to go forward, even without understanding all things.

These are such beautiful days and I am so thankful I get to be alive with you in this season that God has ordained. May the full reward of the Lamb come forth!
